TRAVEL PREPARATIONS

As happens every year when we start planning trips, we always try to include destinations that for one reason or another, attract our attention or interest us in a special way, although we must also say that our desire to travel is such that we would go to any place we don't know.
In this case, counting the dates that we had chosen to travel, in Holy Week, since at that time we had not yet decided that «New Year, new life», which we talked about earlier this year, the destinations were reduced by little, considering the weather factor.
Counting on 19 days and seeing that the trip would be the second half of April, a destination that we have been dreaming of for years and that we have always postponed for different reasons returned to our mind.
We don't lie to you if we tell you that we didn't need more than a couple of minutes to rethink the place and directly confirm that ESE would be our first destination of the year ...

Although it may seem quite the opposite, travel to Tibet It is simpler than you might expect, in large part this is because the trip to Tibet must be organized, as it is impossible to enter freely. This implies not having to worry about how to go from one place to another, or about transportation, or about hiring drivers and / or guides, since all this will be organized by the agency.
Also, if you want, the agency can recommend and / or book the accommodations for you, something that also simplifies, in part, the organization of the trip.

It is for all the comments that the first, and most important, is to choose a trusted agency with which to travel to Tibet. In our case and after the experience we had with them on the trekking between Jinshanling and Simatai on the Great Wall of China and on the Li River Cruise, on the trip to China in 25 days, and how could it be otherwise , we have fully trusted The China Guide, to be our travel companions in that incredible destination that is Tibet.

The next step has been to process the Chinese Visa, of which we will inform you later in the tips to travel to Tibet, at the same time, together with The China Guide, start shuffling possible itineraries and based on them, specify the days that we will need.

After this procedure and have a fairly defined itinerary, in which we will also have a daily Spanish guide trip to Tibet, it's time to look for the flights that will take us to know this incredible corner of the world.
After considering several options, in the end we decided on an inbound flight through Shanghai, with a stopover in Paris and back from Lhasa, with a short stopover in Chengdu, to connect with Barcelona via Amsterdam, which we will do thanks to KLM, a company with which we have flown on previous occasions and that we have to say, is one of our favorites. Not only for the attention and services they give to passengers, but also for the schedules, which as in this case, fit perfectly with what we were looking for, allowing us to make the most of both the outbound and the return day.
If we add to that the attention we receive from you, both through social networks and by telephone, with a problem we had due to a change in the flight schedule, we are totally convinced of the success with the election.

And with all these steps defined, we can not forget another of the most important points on any trip, but especially in this where we will be over 3000 meters from the moment we enter Tibet: travel insurance. In this case, we have opted for Mondo, travel insurance specialists, with whom we will be insured throughout the trip, and most importantly, covered when we are above 3000 meters of altitude, something that does not cover normal travel insurance and that you have to take into account when you travel to a place with the characteristics of Tibet or to a country where you are a few days above this altitude.

Route to travel to Tibet

The idea of entering Shanghai, where we will stay in the Bund area, in the Shanghai Fish Inn East Nanjing Road, in addition to giving us the possibility of spending several days in the city, specifically three days, that we will try to amortize them to the fullest, discovering all the things to see and do in Shanghai, and watch one of the nights the ERA aerobatic show at the Shanghai Circus World, one of the best acrobatics shows in the world, is also the perfect excuse for embark in something with which also, we have been dreaming for years.
